I've heard comments recently from people who lived in the Eastern bloc that said what is happening in certain places in America is worse than living under communism. |

Need to study more specifically about what happened with Romania but fwiw I did read Solzhenitzen's the Gulag Archipelago which should be required reading for every high school student. And adult. I used to work with a young Ukrainian man who did security in my building and over time we talked a bit. He told me how his great uncle and entire family were murdered and farm and property stolen during the Soviet occupation. |

William Franklin was the last colonial Governor of New Jersey (1763–1776), and a steadfast Loyalist throughout the American Revolutionary War. (In contrast, his father Benjamin was one of the most prominent of the Patriot leaders of the American Revolution and a Founding Father of the United States.) Following imprisonment by Patriots in 1776 to 1778, William became the chief leader of the Loyalists. From his base in New York City, he organized military units to fight on the British side. In 1782, he went into exile in Britain. He lived in London until his death. [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] Benjamin Franklin's adult son would have been hung by the PATRIOTS, so along with 100,000 other former Americans they sailed away to England and of that number 50,000 to Canada. Anyone that pretends to be an American but kills (or causes to be killed) Americans, gives up their mortal lives. We were not in a "declared war" with North Viet Nam ... when Jane Fonda traveled to North Viet Nam and encouraged their struggle. If it had been a declared war she could have been found guilty of aiding an American enemy power and executed. ! |
