You're just not being honest or upfront about your politics. I've seen you emphasize certain points or ideas on occasion that indicate you're of the emotional left.

Although you may not be of the hard left, you're certainly no sociopolitical conservative.

Even more so today, people who tend to say they're neither left or right or that the two sides of the spectrum are the same, or more alike than different, often turn out being way more liberal than they're willing to admit or reveal about themselves.

Leftwing or rightwing, people just need to be honest about what makes them tick politically. I'd be lying or playing games if I said I wasn't a rightwinger or conservative.
