We are living in some strange times... Not sure I can understand why people think they can squat in other people's property for free that the landlords are having to pay for? There was a grace period to not be evicted, but you still owe the back rent. This was not a free lunch, just a deferment of payment of rent. They should have been trying to find a new job or move in with a family member. These landlords invested their hard earned money in property to rent out in order to make income and not support project housing. Sorry...

One thing is certain, they need to GTFO if they are not going to pay their rent. Life's tough sometimes and it's about to get tougher for some.

take away peoples homes and jobs and dignity, and see what happens, when you got nothing left to lose, law doesnt matter that much anymore. when whole neighborhoods and cities start to crumble, anarchy will take hold.
when only the few rich left have all the money and no one else can spend anything , what will you sell, who will want to work to give the fortunate their goods, let the rich fend for themselves for once.

If people can’t pay they need to go. Otherwise the banks will repo those houses and the people will still be evicted when the landlords can’t make their mortgages. It’s the land lord who files the eviction the sherif only enforces the law.

Keep your places tenant free during the plandemic, better to have empty properties than full of freeloaders.

you think bill gates knows how to mow a lawn, fix a broken washing machine or work on his own house. think he knows how to go food shopping and stand in line with the rest of us, or put gas in his mercedes or how to survive on his billion dollar estates without all his help. not a chance, the rich have gotten lazy and forgetful of those of us who support him and make his life liveable. maybe he needs a taste of real life, let him suffer like the rest of us and see how he will have to contribute to society and work for what he needs.

The elite will always have someone to guard them and mow their grass. There will never be a shortage of people willing to kill their fellow man for the chance at the crumbs from the elite’s table. In fact, that number gets even bigger the worse things get. It’s the middle class who will bear the brunt of it. It’s the middle class that needs to be thinking really hard about how they want to deal with this problem. The poor cannot lobby, but the middle class can apply pressure to make sure the poor are not completely shit on. The middle class needs to see this as a means of self-preservation, because it’s our necks on the chopping block if the SHTF. Do you live in reality? That’s not what will happen. They’ll just come and kill you and take what you have. Sure, you may take a few of them with you, but you’re still dying. So why respond so flippantly? If you are in fact someone who has done well for themselves, then you should have a vested interest in stability. Instability and unrest will directly impact you as well. It won’t just be something on the TV. So you should come better prepared and willing to solve the issue rather than berate those who are getting screwed, whether it be of their own doing or not. That actually doesn’t matter because the reason for unrest doesn’t actually change whether it affects you or not.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2492899

The upper class indeed has a vested interest in stability, by putting the middle class between themselves and the mob. The middle class is pretty well aware of this now. So they'll work to avoid the blows that are intended for them.

Exactly. And this problem was created by the “managers” by kowtowing to the elite. They shut the country down, but didn’t actually alleviate all the obligations like rent, mortgages, etc. In fact, they gave people a false sense of security with no eviction/foreclosure proceedings which actually tempted people down this path with no immediate consequences. A lot of the lower class are not smart enough to think that far ahead and they were lured into this position.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2492899

I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

-Revelation 6:1-2

Corona = Crown

The virus is real, but so is the plan to not allow a good crisis go to waste. It could be the start of something biblical. Remember, the 4 Horsemen are the warnings that the seals are being unsealed and the rest is to come. They are not independent of one another. So we should soon see the riders of the red, black, and pale horses in succession if this is indeed the first seal.

After State Killed 275k Jobs Over COVID-19, Sheriff Now Evicting Residents Who Can’t Pay

By Matt Agorist

Oklahoma City, OK — Since March, unemployment across the country has reached record and potentially catastrophic numbers. In the entire country, a record 38.6 million Americans have filed for unemployment during the pandemic. That corresponds to nearly 25% of the entire United States labor force. While many of these folks are receiving unemployment from state and federal government, many others are not.

Millions of Americans — who watched states close non-essential businesses, subsequently crushing their careers — cannot even access unemployment benefits, according to the Economic Policy Institute. While some of these problems have been remedied, for others, collecting unemployment insurance was never an option.

Business owners who were unable to obtain an SBC loan or other forms of COVID-19 government subsistence have been frantically fighting to reopen their business as they watched their life savings go up in flames. The Free Thought Project has reported on multiple instances in which people unable to obtain government support have tried to reopen their businesses to support themselves, only to leave them in handcuffs. It’s a catch-22.

Who "lured" the lower class? The virus caused it. And the lower class are the ones most strident about staying locked down.

I am saying the middle class won't be available for outbreaks from the lower class. Rarely anyway. Do you think more direct stimulus checks are needed? Or, if states want to pay poor people, there's a new Fed lending program that they can borrow directly from.

The rent strike I know is happening is in commercial real estate. Commercial tenants are refusing to pay rent, landlords aren't compromising. Eventually maybe they'll meet in the middle, but it's heating up as a conflict at the moment.

Of course the commercial tenants aren't allowed to open their businesses, so they can argue the places aren't worth nearly as much rent as before, and if they get kicked out, they can rent another place much cheaper.
