After State Killed 275k Jobs Over COVID-19, Sheriff Now Evicting Residents Who Can’t Pay

By Matt Agorist

Oklahoma City, OK — Since March, unemployment across the country has reached record and potentially catastrophic numbers. In the entire country, a record 38.6 million Americans have filed for unemployment during the pandemic. That corresponds to nearly 25% of the entire United States labor force. While many of these folks are receiving unemployment from state and federal government, many others are not.

Millions of Americans — who watched states close non-essential businesses, subsequently crushing their careers — cannot even access unemployment benefits, according to the Economic Policy Institute. While some of these problems have been remedied, for others, collecting unemployment insurance was never an option.

Business owners who were unable to obtain an SBC loan or other forms of COVID-19 government subsistence have been frantically fighting to reopen their business as they watched their life savings go up in flames. The Free Thought Project has reported on multiple instances in which people unable to obtain government support have tried to reopen their businesses to support themselves, only to leave them in handcuffs. It’s a catch-22.

privately owned FED will at the end own everything, including you and your children while you'll be forced to live of food stamps, trust the plan
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77757394

The Fed hired BlackRock Inc. to purchase these securities and handle the administration of the SPVs on behalf of the owner, the Treasury. In other words, the federal government is nationalizing large swaths of the financial markets. ... This scheme essentially merges the Fed and Treasury into one organization

Nationalization, or nationalisation, is the process of transforming private assets into public assets by bringing them under the public ownership of a national government or state. Nationalization usually refers to private assets or assets owned by lower levels of government, such as municipalities, being transferred to the state. The opposites of nationalization are privatization and demutualization. When previously nationalized assets are privatized and subsequently returned to public ownership at a later stage, they are said to have undergone renationalization. Industries that are often subject to nationalization include telecommunications, electric power, fossil fuels, railways, airlines, iron ore, media, postal services, banks, and water.

We are living in some strange times... Not sure I can understand why people think they can squat in other people's property for free that the landlords are having to pay for? There was a grace period to not be evicted, but you still owe the back rent. This was not a free lunch, just a deferment of payment of rent. They should have been trying to find a new job or move in with a family member. These landlords invested their hard earned money in property to rent out in order to make income and not support project housing. Sorry...

One thing is certain, they need to GTFO if they are not going to pay their rent. Life's tough sometimes and it's about to get tougher for some.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50631023

where are they supposed to go?? if you get evicted because your job was destroyed by the corona virus bullshit, your no longer employed, whos going to rent to you? what should they do go live in the street or a tent??? what about families with young kids? whos going to take care of them too, what about all your posessions, whats the landlord gonna do with them, hes gonna toss all your shit in the street where it will get stolen from you, your clothes, your furniture, your personal stuff of importance like family photos, id's, birth certificates, everything you need to get on with life,,,, gone. thats fuked up, this will screw people really badly for something they had no control over and wasnt their fault. but thats govt looking out for you, right???

Whee will they go? Who gives a shit.

The rent strike I know is happening is in commercial real estate. Commercial tenants are refusing to pay rent, landlords aren't compromising. Eventually maybe they'll meet in the middle, but it's heating up as a conflict at the moment.

Of course the commercial tenants aren't allowed to open their businesses, so they can argue the places aren't worth nearly as much rent as before, and if they get kicked out, they can rent another place much cheaper.

There are very few cases and deaths, for CoVid-19, in Oklahoma. More are clustered in Oklahoma City. Many businesses were still open because they were deemed essential. What really killed the work force here is the drop in Oil Prices. Oklahoma is an Oil State. Much of the economy comes from Oil. Many have lost their jobs in the Oil industry.

Jobs will come back when oil prices rise to at least $50 per barrel...

We just evicted 2 guys in the past week..They both used the covid virus as their excuse of why they haven’t paid their rent in 3 months..The sheriff deputy said you did get a stimulus check? “ Well yea, but I had other bills” Wrong!!!, Your rent, the roof over your head comes 1rst..Goodbye!!

I’m sick of this virus being used as an excuse for everything..Irresponsible is what’s going on..Enough!!

You ever hear of the saying, “If I owe the bank a million dollars, that’s my problem. If I owe the bank a hundred billion dollars, that’s the bank’s problem”?

Eviction for a few people is their problem. Evicting millions is everyone’s problem. The social unrest that will accompany such a move will make your safe and polite life impossible. But I have a feeling you’re some foreign intel shill looking to sow discord and promote the very economic Armageddon in the US your sentiment would create.

Next time they're advised to sock away 6 month's income/expense money, maybe they'll stop buying dope, chips, fast junk food, candy, etc. and actually save money up.

Never should have been a shutdown. Trump didn’t have the balls to stay with his original position!
