Okay, I got mixed up about the car. From the police, which raises a lot of questions:

At 10:38 a.m. the state sent the following email about the search:

The Connecticut State Police are currently searching for Peter Manfredonia in the Osbornedale State Park in the town of Derby.

Manfredonia is wanted for homicide and serious assault which occurred in the town of Willington.

Manfredonia is 23 years old, White Male with Black Deshoveled hair, wearing Gray T shirt and Gray sweat pants carrying unknown type bag with food rations and is believed to be armed with numerous weapons.

If you see this suspect do not attempt to approach him and call 911 immediately.

Police early Saturday found a vehicle near the intersection of Hawthorne Avenue and Cullens Hill Road in Derby that may have belonged to one of the victims from an earlier crime.

Police found the vehicle at 6:45 a.m., though they do not know how long the vehicle had been there. Sandy Hook is about 11 miles away from where the vehicle was found.




All we've been told is that Mr De Mer's wife said a guy cam walking up, holding his motorcycle helmet, her husband gave that guy on his four wheeler and then a neighbor came honking in her driveway saying there was a terrible accident (passed the body while driving, I presume).

1. How was Manfredonia identified if he'd left the scene? We've heard nothing about anyone getting a plate number. The man that survived the attack must be the one who said the bike was red but it seems unlikely he would have gotten a plate number after being violently attacked.

2. How would the police know the suspect was carrying "multiple weapons"?

3. How would police know he was carrying an "unknown type bag with food rations"?

4. Police find a vehicle at "Hawthorne Avenue and Cullens Hill Road in Derby" that "may have belonged to one of the victims of an earlier crime". Is that location near the murder/attack scene? Does "earlier crime" refer to the attack on De Mers and his neighbor? How could the cops not know FOR SURE if the vehicle belonged to one of the victims (this crime, a different crime?) when they have the VIN and registration?
