Not even close to accurate. Read about venezuela sanctions. They aren't just sanctioned by us, just like iran, north korea and a few other countries like russia. Yes they are still under sanction.

All of these sancations are because the Trump admin doesn't like the Maduro Regime. Legitimate regime or not, it's none of our fucking business, Period. The Maduro regime sees through the US bullshit and is taking a stand against the US and Trump doesn't like it. That's all it's about. You need to go and read about the sanctions. If you add up all the wars, the US is engaged in a WORLD WAR.

Communist China has been helping the US wage this war for about 20 years now. It provides, military, manufacturing and POLITICAL support. Until recently.

The US has been losing those wars all along. Calling it "success" when striking defenseless dirt farmers and 3,000 year old irrigation and water systems in the Middle East and Africa. Then blaming the millions of refugees on "Climate Change."

China has helped enormumously with all the above. They provided Obama political cover as he tried to bomb "people of color" into submission in a dozen nations.

Things are going very badly for the American people. The country is quite literally on it's last legs. It's not honest about anything. It's all one "hurry-up stampede" after another. Staged wars. Staged shooting. Staged racism. Staged sexism. All distractions from the stripping of wealth.

Most US sanctions are currently unilateral. Which are illegal.

Some "sanctions" have a hodgepodge of support from the EU or NATO, but most do not have UN support.

It doesn't have anything to do with "socialism" - they simply can't get the equipment or parts or experts to build a proper refinery because of... sanctions.

The USA, unable to commandeer their oil fields, has decided to put the screws to the population as a form of economic/trade terrorism.

But don't worry, the USA's sanctions game is running out of gas and soon we'll all get to feel the pain as well.

In 10 years every American politician will be saying "Venezuela, Iran? We've ALWAYS been allies with them silly!"

You want change there then take him out. It would take the US military 24 hours to take control, but no, lets let this take a decade and thousands of innocent lives!!!

First off, just because the US has sanctions imposed on Iran does *NOT* mean that Iran cannot trade with other nations (like Venezuela). It simply means that the US cannot trade with Iran.

So, in order for Iran to be “defying US sanctions,” they would have to be trading with the US either directly or through some intermediary. Or, American Corporations or businesses would have to be trading directly or indirectly with Iran (in violation of US sanctions).

Now, if we had an embargo against Venezuela or Iran, then we would have shut down their ports with a naval blockade and anyone running that blockade would be in violation of the embargo... but sanctions and embargos are two different things hoping to achieve the same effective goals.

Therefore, Iranian ships carrying petroleum based fuels have every right to travel to Venezuela and deliver their product. Neither Iran nor Venezuela have sanctions on each other nor does the US have a current embargo on either nation (though we have naval vessels in nearby international waters). The nearby US warships did not move to stop the shipments because in doing so it would be considered an act of war.

I am not saying that I agree with letting this trade happen. I am simply stating that no US economic sanctions were violated in this instance. Do we allow Iran and Venezuela to trade freely? Well, stopping them (via an embargo) could and eventually would lead to war with one or both of nations and their respective allies.
