Family of man beaten in Detroit nursing home demands answers


Kevin Bledsoe, the victim's nephew, said his uncle is in Sinai-Grace Hospital recovering.

"Our uncle is doing better, much better. The catch-22 is will he be released back to this facility which is unacceptable," Bledsoe said.

Kevin said his uncle was a Highland Park police officer for a time, and described him as a "solid guy."

“ Who took the video? This wasn't just done by one person," Kevin said.

He feels the facility dropped the ball. On Friday, the suspect's father told 7 Action News his son has mental health issues and he was moved to Westwood because he has COVID-19.

"I have not heard that," Kevin said of the suspect's alleged COVID-19 status.

"If my uncle is subject to COVID, and now if he has COVID, that's a whole nother (sic) different situation that we're going to have to deal with."

As the Bledsoe family takes legal action and police investigate, his message to the suspect is short and simple.

"We (going to) crush you like a grape. It's only a matter of time. It's only a matter of time," he said.

I’m against violence but a message has to be sent to those who don’t respect our elders.

When I send his info to the DPD, I also sent links to the videos by 3 am, early morning Thursday. Not sure if the links were still valid with YT taking them down so quick. When they were still up, I copied them in their highest resolution (which was 720p) and have them archived.

With my own investigation into this case beginning on Wednesday, May 20, I revealed in a thread here (which Trin has since deleted) that revealed his age, having autism and the name and address of his mother (Maya Gilmer, of which has not been made public) before any of this info became public. Also I am the one who found the 2004 case that was brought claiming his autism was the results of vaccines. His father was easy to locate too, but I haven't release that info. Now, it appears a lot of the info is being scrubbed.

Everyone of us that has an elderly person that is in a nursing home right now fears this very scenario, especially since they are not allowing any family to visit

They don’t allow you at a nursing home, they don’t allow you at the hospital, and they don’t allow you to the mandatory quarantine at a designated nursing home unless they are dying
