HONG KONG ERUPTS: Tear Gas Deployed As Thousands Fill Streets To Oppose China's National Security Law

The protesters, most of whom could be seen donning masks, were hit with tear gas less than an hour after the start of the demonstrations which resulted in at least 120 arrests - including 40 of which were people accused of blocking Gloucester Road. A water cannon truck was also deployed.

Britain should step in and demand Hong Kong back because China is breaking the handover trety

If masks don’t help with tear gas they probably useless with a virus.

The legally binding Joint Declaration, signed by China and the UK, sets out that Hong Kong will have a high degree of autonomy. It also provides that rights and freedoms, including those of the person, of the press, of assembly, of association and others, will be ensured by law in Hong Kong, and that the provisions of the two UN covenants on human rights (the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights) shall remain in force.
