Anonymous Coward User ID: 77888403 United States 05/24/2020 06:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Once something becomes about morality and emotions, it's not longer about the science. Quoting: The Årtist Masks aren't a panacea and offer marginal benefit at the very best. Cloth masks increase infection risk to those wearing them. As far as your selfishness commentary, it's pretty clear you're interested more in virtue signaling and telling others how to live their lives because it makes you feel like a good person. You are, in fact, not a good person. You THINK you are doing good and this gives you the validation to condemn those not in agreement with your unscientific views. For you it's more about the meaning of it all than the efficacy of masks. If you force me to wear a mask I will leave, politely and not say anything. I won't even mutter anything under my breath. I will leave and never shop with you ever again. You are simply an uneducated individual forcing others to do what you THINK is right, but it's not scientifically beneficial to a large degree. You want to force people to do something so YOU feel better and you project your beliefs and emotions onto others and feel they should do what YOU feel is right. That makes you the selfish asshole. What's worse is you are too close minded and set in your ways and think you KNOW what's best, so you'll never change. You're the type that makes the same poor life decisions over and over. You probably work for someone else, get paid what they think you are worth... and constantly think you know how to run their business better than they do... meanwhile you are too chicken shit to risk everything to start a business like they did. You're self loathing fear of living life and reaping the benefits of taking that risk have lead you to a life of envy and think everyone else needs to change. You, sir, are a dick. And quite frankly, the weakest in the world, both physically, emotionally, spiritually, and intelligently. As a Constitutional conservative, I feel that you are wrong. Moreover, i feel like you have no morals when it comes to your kindness and consideration for the health of others. Businesses should mandate wearing masks in order to protect their clients who have health issues and are seniors. Masks do help, they are not a pure guarantee but coupled with social distancing guidelines they do help to mitigate risk. If you wish to NOT shop at a store that cares about all of their customers equally, then you have every right to do so - hell, i wont shop at a store that does not allow firearms inside (as i always carry concealed). But in this case, people with health issues should NOT be afraid of entering and shopping in a store Just because you are inconvenienced by wearing a mask for the 30 minutes to an hour that you will be there. But if you happen to be inconvenienced by it, then sure, take your business somewhere else - by all means. The best part in your rant was how you call someone else “selfish” when, in fact, YOU are the one who cares only about your own desires and health and dont give a fuck about anyone elses. Especially when the inconvenience to you is only for the duration of being in a store and wearing a mask. YOU, sir or mam, are in fact the selfish one by definition. Selfishness is requiring the overwhelming majority to change to protect a minority position. Forcing 324,000,000 people to do something to possibly protect 3 million is not democracy. I do agree that any private enterprise can enforce rules they wish as long as they are not discriminatory. But everything you've stated isn't scientifically accurate. Damn right.Im sick and tired of the IGNORANT explaining science and medicine to me,then DEMANDING I do as they say. Eff you all you uninformed ignorant fools. |

I admit I sympathized with the baker who didn't want to make a GLBT cake for a homosexual customer. In turn, I have a suspicion you weren't quite as resentful of that same customer, the one who felt he had a self-entitled right to force his wishes on a private business. Okay, maybe you didn't care for that customer too. But you were a wee bit less indignant about him - just a bit - than you are towards a customer not wearing a mask. Am I wrong? User ID: 77457813 United States 05/24/2020 06:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What is wrong with many is that they confuse what the government cannot do and what a business cannot do. There is no freedom of speech and no 4th Amendment within a private business. The government is telling you for your safety to wear a mask and distance. If a business owner tells you that he won't serve people who wear purple shirts, that is his right as long as he doesn't discriminate and only applies that provision to a certain class based on sex, age, etc. If a business says all bags may be searched that too is allowed as long as you are on the property of the business. A cop cannot search you unless he is making an arrest or has probable cause. In many counties you do not have those freedoms. But acting like a complete horse's ass is your right, as is your right not to patronize a business. The point is, yes you have the right not to social distance or wear a mask, but if the business says you must, then you have two choices, comply or go somewhere else. I would like to think Americans would have some empathy towards their fellow citizen, especially the elderly (of which I qualify). But, if you don't, well, I guess your mother didn't do such a good job raising you. justavet In the end, our regrets are for what we didn't do, not for what we did. |
