I'd say the generally smarter people are the ones who aren't acting like they know exactly what's going on, because no one really does. Wearing a mask is playing it safe in a period of uncertainty and if it helps other people feel better than also an act of kindness.

I don't wear a mask because I'm not required to anywhere I go. If I was, I would and it wouldn't really bother me.

People that do wear masks I don't think less of. People that don't wear them I don't think more of.
