A woman I work with has a son who worked at a restaurant that served these “impossible burgers”.

According to him, they grab a random box in the morning of regular OR impossible and they would just use those patties all day.

Next day, a new draw.

no they are not all GMO. Coconut oil does a nice job of being the fat in the above.. I haven't bought that brand but there are similar ones on the market which are quite good in fact.

Why does it taste so much like meat? It is because the soy plant has a small amount of an iron producing molecule that they unnaturally GMO target to make the plant produce a ton of it.

Why?

Because primarily why meat tastes so good to humans is the iron in hemoglobin of the blood in the meat. This iron based molecule in soy is very similar. They just have to jack the plant's DNA to make it produce enough of the molecule to be profitable.

So they are mimicking that and other flavorings that people naturally crave in meat.

I don't eat frankenfood if possible but that is me.
