Anyone here look like crap in the pictures but look much better in real life

I hate 99% of the pics ever taken of me... I look much better in person.

I think you have a glow that is not perceived well by the camera. The camera cant deal with your energy maybe?

Are you the type that complete strangers seek you out to tell their life problems to?

They can see the glow, like moths to a flame. the same glow that messes up cameras.

It's all about confidence. Any professional photog will tell you.....the camera loves confident people. I'm confident everywhere except in front of a camera. Not sure why...

I always wonder if this is because pictures show how other people see us instead of ourselves looking in the mirror. Do we see ourselves as better looking because we love ourselves and know ourselves? Or do cameras just suck?

I've wondered about that myself.

But then I've had people that have seen pictures of me, even ones that I thought were pretty good, tell me that I look different and much better than my pictures.

Its the glow! The "Confident" people have their energy field under control. This does not mean their energy is good or bad, its just stable.

Like an aura, same thing. The energy field can be picked up by the camera. We are not confident because we know the pic wont turn out. Its a given. So, no confidence in front of the cameras.

I personally think those of us who don't photograph well are very special people. Maybe deeper thinkers, a more saturating experience of life itself, vs some you tube beauty; so a perturbed energy field will present on camera.
Life is perturbing for those who are able to notice.

I swear to God every picture of me looks like a god-damned mugshot.

My boss after 1 day of talking to me, reveal their whole entire life. Kids, marital problems, company issues... And it's not like a small convo, it's a combo that lasts for minimum of an hour!

All friends and family call me to vent.

When I'm out at a ihop at night, or Whataburger you won't believe how many ppl spark convos with me and how they talk about their families and work.

Can you tell me more about this glow?

For example:
Imagine someone with a very low intelligence/awareness, who maybe only cares about tv and being pretty/rich/whatever. This person is not bothered by the squirrel who got hit by a car out front. This person does not care about anything but herself. She might be attractive, maybe not. But her energy is stable.
Her energy is not harmed by the outside, because her energy is not connected to anything but herself. Her energy therefore is stable. Confident, because, why not?

The next person cried all day about the squirrel outside, and is very worried for their neighbors, and the general state of the world. This persons energy expands and contracts, feeling out the world around them. Thier awareness is higher, the energy field much stronger and more perceptive. The energy field is turbulent- not to say it is good or bad, it just is more.

Its kind of like how some people think that there are actual NPC's among us. There are in a sense. have you ever heard that the more attractive a person is, the more unaware / stupid/ selfish they can be? Vapid, no concern. energy not really meshing up with the actual reality.

Let me add its not about beauty, just using that as an example.

Its all about the lighting and the angles. Even turning your head 1cm can paint an entirely different picture

but I look like shit in every angle.

I heard a lady once talk about this phenomenon in an interview! She ran a modeling agency for children. She said many kids were lovely in 3-D, but it didn’t always translate well into two dimensions. On the flip side, some kids who honestly weren’t the most attractive “in real life” had the kind of features that were captured favorably in 2-D.

I'm not even lying when I say this. there's this woman that works at this warehouse with me and she is a former meth head. At 26 she looked 50 with missing teeth and wrinkles.

We took a company pic and she looked 100x better than me!

lmao. Of course. Her energy is so low the camera don't care. Meanwhile, someone like you (on glp because you think and imagine and truly experience what is seen and unseen, like the rest of us here)
Someone like you would photograph crappy. Its the glow!
Good people have a good glow, strangers seek you out. Bad people have a bad glow, like the person you cross the street to avoid. both good and bad glow in this example have turbulent energy. The people with the stable (not very aware, not very alive) energy photograph well.

Native Americans believed that taking their picture stole some of their energy, stole their soul, a piece at a time.

Fun fact, optically, we see ourselves THE OPPOSITE in photographs from what we normally see in a mirror... mostly the reason why we hate photographs of ourselves.

It's simple optics/geometry but something we take for granted.

People don't see you like you do when you look in the mirror, they see the image reversed... like the photo.

But I also notice that I'm extra judgmental about how I look vs how others turn out on camera

I'd hear my friend going "wow this pic of me is just disgusting" but I'd look at it and think "looks alright to me"

We see our imperfections in high-definition while looking at someone else' picture we see it more holistically, so maybe they do the same

It's not that, it's bone structure. You're basically rending a three-dimensional image into two dimensions.

Jutting cheekbones and overly wide set eyes and a square jaw look great when on camera - but kinda weird in real life.

I always have the worst expression in family photo and everyone is ok with using the one where I look like a tard, and I always wonder why, whoever took the picture could not have waited one more second or snapped a few in concession?
