The cops have been killing people who are temporarily out of their minds from drugs and alcohol, or from psychosis. They get rough with those people often leading to their deaths.

There was some guy who freaked out on acid at a party and his friends called the cops for help, but instead of helping they came over a tazered that guy to death. They have done this to schizophrenics off their meds, those cases I know of were all white victims though so the media leaves those stories alone.
