*MOLON LABE* User ID: 78176210 United States 05/27/2020 07:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I tried so hard to stay away. But my freaking dumbass gave myself a double hernia because I decided to go super heavy on deadlifts. I'm so stupid. I had to go in and now scheduled surgery for this Friday. I had to take a damn Covid-19 test. I brought my own damn sterile collection swabs. The nurses didnt quite know what to make of me. But they quickly warmed up to me and they started telling me all the weirdness surrounding this....this, whatever 'this' is. But overall moral of the story during a pandemic or whatever DO NOT be doing wreckless things like lifting super heavy or any other risky behaviour if you really want to stay away from hospitals now. But then again on the flip side you could be as careful as possible and a huge branch could break off and nail you in the head. This happened to my very careful isolated neighbor and he had be rushed to the hospital. I guess my little area where I live has some bad luck. The trade off though is there may be a short window of time before a 2nd wave comes. The person that posted why would you avoid the doctor is purposely being flippant. You would hope that a doctors office has people educated enough to do what they can to ensure the environment is as sterile as can be. They will be wearing N95 respirator masks or better. Having said that, hospitals are rampant environments of infection. A doctor at Yale University Hospital almost killed my father by transmitting an infection to him. So it should hopefully be safer to go visit a doctor than going to the grocery store where people don't give a crap. |

The nurse came at me with a swab to go up my nose, and I said no way. He said I wouldn't be admitted into the hospital, and I'd be put out otherwise. I stood my ground, in extreme pain and vomiting mind you, until another nurse came in and said I could have a throat swab done. The test was back in an hour. No COVID. Lol, my ER nurse was standing beside him, flashing me a syringe of morphine in her hand, harhar, trying to get me to take the test. I wanted it badly, but there was no way they were jamming that thing up my nose. When ya got to go because your life is threatened, you've got to go....I mean, at one point my BP dropped low and I stopped breathing. Sometimes you need medical care....and outside of the little tuft about the test, my stay was as much of a joy as it could be. I did have fun with the staff..... Anonymous Coward User ID: 50586725 United States 05/27/2020 07:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I usually make a doctor appointment every few months to get refills for anxiety medication. Yesterday I tried to make an appointment but I was put on hold, for half an hour, so I eventually hung up. But the recording said that all patients need to take a corona virus test before seeing a doctor. I really don't want to have that giant swab shoved up my nose and into my brain, and with my luck the results would probably be a false positive and I wouldn't be allowed to go back to work. So I'm debating my options right now. Is anybody else dealing with a similar situation? If so, what are you planning to do? Quoting: dpow Agreed 100% Stay away as long as you have your health |
