If today’s attempt is scrubbed, there are backup opportunities on the schedule for May 30 and May 31. Quoting: BBQ BOY™ [link to techcrunch.com (secure)] I really can't handle this being scrubbed today I been waiting for this for days! I remain skeptical about it being an "accident" that it went off course towards the asteroid belt.. Who knows what is actually in that chassis, and why it would need to go explore the belt without seeming like it's purposely going to explore the belt. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68742623 Nah. I take it at face value. It was actually a test of the Falcon 9 payload delivery system the car was just dead weight for the test. They could have sent up cinder blocks but instead chose to use a Tesla. And starman with his streaming webcast was an afterthought (also testing the space suits being used today for the first time). But his signal faded out because he didn’t have a giant dish attached to the hood and he went silent and so has the car. Any experiments it may be conducting would be pointless as it’s out of communication range. Also even though he is privatized he still follows NASA guidance and rules so I don’t think he would intentionally contaminate an asteroid with potentially earth based bacteria. This is why we burn up spacecraft at the end of their lives intentionally by crashing them into something. Just read up a bit about it, I didn't know the live stream of the exit from earth orbit portion was cut short, or that the rocket was testing heavy military payload delivery in the orbit it chose. So, openly working with the precursor of "Space Force", and delivering a mystery satellite shaped like a car into an odd elliptical solar orbit in the general direction of Mars. I mean what's not to love? That's got conspiracy written all over it! That being said, I still quite love the fact that a private company is doing this, not some bloated under funded government agency. We need to step up our space colonization efforts! Under funded???? Have you seen NASA's budget? They waste most of there budget on bull-shit, but they are certainly not under funded. How many millions did they spend trying to show how smart and worthwhile muslims are? Their "global warming" scam cost the agency many millions. They need to get back to their reason for existence, space travel. They are more concerned with political correctness than science. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. We do both live in Florida. Lol. But no. An in fact I’m sure he’s sitting in traffic trying to get to the space coast right now. I was gonna go but with the president coming and covid and all this crap you won’t be able to get within 50 miles and forget the beach. No way in hell unless you left at 2am. Which I didn’t. So I’ll see it for real in the sky in the distance but I’ll be watching it live like the rest of the world. And no I am not Astro. :) |

Well I am in the Orlando area so it’s central peninsula and here we have a thunderstorm every single day about 3-5 pm. Smack dab in middle of launch window. But that’s because the sea breezes collide over the center of the State in mid afternoon hot sun the heat coming off the ground lifts up the atmosphere and sea breeze fills in from both sides and presto. I mean he put a fucking car in orbit around the sun lol. That’s pretty damn cool If you ask me. And it’s not something NASA would ever do. They don’t do “ cool “ things. They do “ mission “ things. I think privatized space program is a fabulous concept and it’s still an American company. It still has an American flag on the rocket. It’s still something to be proud of. So what if some bloated agency isn’t at the helm. Americans are. Quoting: Taz First of all, no one in their right mind believes there's a car out there orbiting anything. Second of all, Musk is dangerous. He's the one saying we need to interface with AI in order to control it. Don't you know he's setting the ground work for the mark of the beast? There's no way I'm allowing anyone to put anything in my body that links me to the machine. Elon is scared. Watch his talk about the "old ones". He knows there's other dimensions. I can't imagine he has not done a lot of LSD. All the geniuses have. The man who discovered the double helix dna was on LSD. If he knows there are other dimensions and that he is helping to build technology that will bridge dimensions...is he doing it because he's curious and somebody has to? I don't need a tattoo device that will be sold to me by the medical industry that will make me part of the machine. No thank you. |

Musk is working with/for the military. It's no secret. Elon Musk’s SpaceX inks deal with US military to test out sky-crowding Starlink satellites for Army communications SpaceX has agreed to let the US Army test out its Starlink satellite broadband network – made up of thousands of individual satellites in low-earth orbit – with the presumed aim of integrating it into existing military systems. The military has signed a deal with the billionaire’s spaceflight company to test out the Starlink network over the next three years, evaluating its suitability for their data-transfer needs, an inside source told SpaceNews on Tuesday. Signed last week, the agreement, known as a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA), is typically used by the military to test-drive private-sector technologies before buying them. -50% [link to www.rt.com (secure)] I came. How SpaceX’s 1st manned mission could change things FOREVER ... If successful, the launch would represent a major symbolic achievement for the US, say Russian cosmonauts Oleg Kotov and Aleksandr Lazutkin. Alternative space ‘route’ & technological competition The launch is far more than a simple matter of prestige, though. The emergence of another organization capable of manned space launches would end not only the US’ but the world’s dependence on the Russian Soyuz program when it comes to manned ISS missions.
