CDC ... government or private? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78960651 United States 05/28/2020 08:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Established by Congress more than two decades ago, the CDC Foundation is an independent, 501(c)(3) public charity. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77742610 The foundation's job is to fund the CDC with private corporate money. This creates a De Facto private enterprise that works for the benefits of the sponsors, not the American people. The conflicts of interest should be glaring to anyone who takes the time to look. How can a supposed independent agency act for the interests of the people when their paychecks are coming from corporations and wealthy people? Anonymous Coward User ID: 78964559 United States 05/28/2020 11:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Right from the horse’s mouth: “Although the CDC Foundation was chartered by Congress, it is not a government agency nor is it a division of CDC. It is a private, nonprofit organization classified as a 501(c)(3) public charity.” Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77716546 [link to truthinplainsight.com (secure)] But your quote just shows that the CDC *FOUNDATION* is a public charity "NOR IS IT" [i.e., it is NOT] a division of [the] CDC. So, there is the CDC and there is the CDC Foundation (which is a charity). It's apples and oranges.... |
