I was yanked from my truck with guns pointed at my head and screaming cops throwing me to the ground, then the knees. They were looking for someone in the area that knifed a woman, the vehicle description was the same as mine. As soon as they figured out I was the wrong guy they left me laying there without so much as an apology. Similar happened to me. I was walking alone at night and was suddenly surrounded by police. I complied and got on the ground. A white guy in his early 30s, like myself, had robbed a liquor store up the street. All they did was cuff me, they didn't strangle me with a knee, but this story scares the fuck out of me knowing they could've killed me right there out of negligence like they did to Floyd. Eventually they got my ID out of my pocket and found out they had the wrong guy. They apologized, but I just wanted to get the hell home. Yeah the ID is how they figured out my situation too, luckily they had a name. I can only imagine how badly either event would have went if it were now, ya know. It was definitely eye opening, I was in shock for an hour or two. They damaged both bumpers on my truck and I was layed up for a week with a neck injury, nothing I could do for compensation though, lawyers said it was necessary force under the circumstances. |
