I think everyone is missing an important fact when watching this video. You’re looking at the wrong officer.

Multiple officers are applying pressure to George’s body and the one restraining his head movement by putting his knee on George’s jaw and head probably induced the least amount of stress on George. I know you all want to hang this officer that appears to have his knee on George’s neck but it looks to me like his knee is more on the jaw and base of the scull preventing its movement, than on his neck. If he did have pressure on his neck then the compression of the carotid artery would cause him to go unconscious within 7 seconds. If his esophagus was compressed then he would also be out in less than a minute. But the video shows George could talk and was conscious for 4 to 5 minutes, so I don’t think very much pressure, if any at all, was applied to the neck.

The officer putting pressure on George’s middle back is what probably caused the compression of George’s lungs and heart, preventing him from breathing properly. As any middle aged man with a beer gut will tell you, it is very uncomfortable to lie on your stomach on a hard surface as it causes their fat gut to press up against all their internal organs. You can’t lie that way very long without feeling very distressed. The compression of his lungs caused him to take in less oxygen with each breath until he gradually lost consciousness and stopped breathing all together.

Now I want to know if this restraining technique of laying someone on their stomach for an extended length of time is an approved procedure by this city and police department. If it is approved then what did the officers do wrong, other than being oblivious as to how the human body works?

Well, something must have happened, but he was in cuffs for the entire duration of this video as he was obviously not able to use his arms to save his own life. The cop kept his weight on that dudes neck that whole time while he was handcuffed, and for several minutes after he already passed out.
