US seized Chinese-built transformer – but nobody knows why | |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78879741 Well, sounds like some form of a remote control box that the originators (guess who) could use to shut down power as a diversion prior to or during an attack on us. We can't allow that to happen. Godspeed to US military intel. RS |

I fuckin hate China and all the politicians that sold us out to them. All should be hung for treason. Say what you want about Trump but he is absolutely correct with China. If anyone disagrees with his China policies they are the fucking enemy. |

The US should make it a law that all grid critical infrastructure should be sourced from domestic sources. I wonder just how compromised our grid has become. Yeah, its straight treason for what some of these globalist that for now call themselves Americans have allowed. All in the name of money and wanting the US to fall into ruin. It's all part of the plan. EDIT: Also we shoulder a lot of this blame for being asleep at the wheel and not remaining vigilant with our liberties. People are called biased if they don't agree to remain asleep. This is a time of wake up calls in so many ways. |

Not literally everything, but almost everything electronic with some amount of complexity has integrated chips. For example, a component might include a tiny chip with some simple logic to trigger an event, like a shut down. Something like: if temperature > 140 degrees, then stop device; etc. Anything with a chip that incorporates even the simplest logic could be considered as a computer. |

At the very least, it is not implausible to design a transformer that could mechanically fail under certain conditions. It doesn't need to be some super smart hidden backdoor; it would only need to be constructed with inferior materials to be a predictable failure point. You can see him working by his EO's, comments and job creation. China and the deep state never should have messed with the U.S. They see the handwriting on the wall which is why you see the diversions going on in Hong Kong and the border with India. At some point they will be forced to go into the international markets to get enough food to keep the ever restless citizens from over throwing the communists. Make no mistake, communism has never lasted in any country and it won't last in China either. Good news for the Chinese, be patient freedom is coming. |

I read an article back in the 90's that the U.S. "purportedly" had manufactured thousands of PLC's specific to the electric generation industry and put them on the market in Europe with a supplier that sold to the Soviet Union. The Soviets purchased the PLC's and installed them in their substations some time during the 90's. As the legend was told all of those PLC's had a countdown date set in them when they all shut down for good something like 18 months later. Anyone can clarify this story if I am telling it different. The point is the Chinese could install shutdown mechanisms in these transformers sold to the U.S. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78961849 China owns 99% of the world's resources of rare-earth metals. It seems pretty clear to me that 15-20 years ago the Chinese woke up and said "We're not going to sell this stuff to anyone any more. If you want it, come and build your factories here in China and employ Chinese workers and we'll sell you the stuff you need - but only for what you produce here." Thus, all the electronic stuff we buy is made in China only. Maybe that's another reason why Musk, Bezos & their buddies in US Gov are so desperate to get off world - do a little asteroid mining, so they can ditch China for all their electronics manufacturing... |
