Adam and The Woman (Ishshah) DIED on that very day that ate the Fruit. It was an actual physical death and not 'kind of sort of'.
 Quoting: Base12

Adam and Ishshah were the first to experience the Resurrection of the Damned...

John 5:29
"And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation"

Again, Adam and Ishshah woke to the Resurrection of Shame and Everlasting Contempt...

Daniel 12:2
"And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt"

This is the precise moment when Adam and Ishshah *physically* died...

Genesis 3:6
"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat"

Here is the moment when Adam and Ishshah were resurrected...

Genesis 3:7
"And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons"

They were naked because they had no 'Tabernacle'. Their Tabernacle was dissolved...

2 Corinthians 5:1-3
"For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens"

"For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven"

"If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked"

That is what 'naked' means.
