After God created Adam’s first Wife out of Adam’s rib, Adam named her Woman… Genesis 2:23
“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man”In Hebrew, her name is Ishshah… Strong's 802: Ishshah
Definition: woman, wife, female

It is not until Ishshah partakes of the Forbidden Fruit that things begin to change. After Ishshah ate the Forbidden Fruit, she died. God then had to re-create a second wife for Adam. Adam named his second wife, Eve… Genesis 3:20
