I’d miss some of the user made documentaries and DIY videos on YouTube if you’d count that as social media. That’s it really, I use nothing more than that. Good old forums for me,

i wouldn't like if a government entity forced them to shut down. it's a tricky, shitty situation. tricky and shitty because it's a slippery slope.

I would miss it right now in this very moment but once this is all said and done, no, i wouldn't miss it one fucking bit. We need social media right now. Most folks could never find their way to good forums or sites so they would be relying on what? MSM? Social Media is the lesser of the two evils right now.

Like i said though, i think it's paramount right now but in the near future, fuck it, i certainly wouldn't miss it.

Ake no mistake Trump's attack on Twitter is an attack on your ability to get the truth.

Social Media is a bit different. MUCH larger database of people which means more connection in real time. Forums are slower paced with far smaller databases and accounts.

Social medias version of a forum is a group.

Twitter, Facebook, TikTok. Wouldn't miss any of them. Complete waste of time.

I'm having an epic battle on it right now. I'd be annoyed if it got chopped off halfway through.

Not really. Some of you use it that way with your screen names and post history and nonsense. The rest of us don't bother with accounts and find them stupid. I don't use any social media services or anything that requires me to create an account unless it involves the purchase of a service or product...like my proton mail account, or Amazon, that sort of thing.

When it first came about it was good because it was just regular people reaching out to family, friends, and posting nice and funny things of their life.

Then it got overrun with millennial types seeking attention and gave them a platform for their voice and opinions (which they didnt deserve and the world did not want). Which spread like an infection until it ruined everything.

Well, GLP is weirder, and pig-headed to boot.

Reddit is generally more level-headed, logical and better at wordier stories.

Maybe for a day or two. Also, like after quitting cigarettes, I might move to go to a site--then stop half way.

As one who grew up with dial phones, I sort of wish that the whole computer thing would just go away. In many ways it has soiled this world.
