In a word no. Are you 100% innocent? Am I? Not going to get into a philosophical discussion. If you're going to blame Paterno and call him a Pedo enabler you better blame the following people too:

-PSU Board of Trustees and Administration
-Governor Corbett
-The psychologists and adoption workers who said Sandusky checked out as clean and let him adopt children and be around children in the second mile (How the fuck did that even happen honestly?)
-University Police/Police
-Others that I'm probably forgetting cause I'm typing on my phone and this is a badly written post

Paterno told his superiors (yes had them) he suspected something and they did shit including the police. When Paterno died ALL the blame fell on the him because the dead can't talk and because he had his name. Namely because a report was published from an investigator who was hired by people far guiltier than Paterno who was paid to blame everyone but the people who hired him. Namely the BOT and Corbett to cover his own pathethic ass. Not to mention Corbett had a fued with Paterno since Paterno didn't support him politically. Add to that the fact that the media LOVES to destroy anyone with a big name given half a chance. No one cares about the names of those psychologists right? They should have been investigated and blamed a hell of a lot more than Paterno was if we're playing the blame game. I'm not going to go into the specifics more as that would literally take all day. Let's just say I know some people with inside knowledge of the situation. So was Paterno 100% innocent? Most likely no. He could have done more. But so could have a lot of people with the authority to actually do something. Was he responsible for this mess? Not more than other people who were never blamed by the media. Was he railroaded because of his prestige and the need for a scapegoat combined with the fact that he died? 100% yes. There's a lot more to this thing than the national media will tell you. The whole thing would have been very embarrassing for the Governor and board and the university as a whole. It was far easier to blame the dead guy and get off Scott free themselves when in reality they themselves were more to blame. At the end of the day whoever you want to blame it's a terrible thing that happened to those children. That's the bottomline and most important thing to remember. Other than the kids of course honestly the thing that makes me angriest is that the people who were more involved in this whole thing will never be brought to justice. But they sure as hell will still blame someone else for their own failings.



P.S. Look up Ray Gricar who was the Centre County District attorney who went missing in 2005. Maybe there's a connection or maybe not. It is somewhat intriguing if nothing else.
