Yes, you can sprout it just like any other greens or you can just eat it by the handful like nuts and seeds.

I think hamster food is just hay pellets. Not good.

I use for years bird seed sunflower and mixed with millet wheat for micro greens sprouts because is cheaper than any other seeds, 12-14 Canadian dollars for 50 lbs bag at Costco here.

The bird seed I buy isn't the cheap stuff, and my deck is an airport. It has striped sunflower seeds hummans eat, dried fruit humans eat, and peanuts in it humans also eat. My birdies love it and I am spending a small fortune every month feeding every species and small AND LARGE mammal around these woods here.
