Personal Videos: Indianapolis Protests May 30, 2020

I have uploaded a few videos from yesterday's protests in Indianapolis; two from my cell phone and one from my dashcam. I have a lot more footage, but I'm still sorting through everything, especially my dashcam which - as always - was running the entire time.

Here are my thoughts based on my personal observations of what transpired last night in my city:

95% of the protestors were protesting peacefully and behaving like adult human beings. It was the remaining few that were fully responsible for the event escalating to violence.

I don't believe that most of the remaining 5% truly cared about the cause for which the crowd was protesting. They showed up with premeditated intent to behave violently because they had a convenient excuse to do so with little chance of suffering any real consequences.

Hundreds of people of various ethinc and socioeconomic backgrounds mixed together throughout the protest with few indications of racism. Again, it was the ignorant few who were responsible for any racial ugliness.

Obviously, I could not be everywhere at once, but I personally did not witness any law enforcement officer act inappropriately. They were calm, professional, and acted only when the crowd left them no alternative.

Unfortunately, there were several shootings (civilian on civilian) last night, including one fatality. My guess is tonight will be even worse. Internal police intelligence has picked up on rumors that some agitators will be moving from downtown and deliberately targeting affluent neighborhoods and suburbs tonight. So I will be remaining home tonight just in case.
