You suburban dwellers That is a Fox scream amplified from low cloud cover and rain Good grief, funny the people reacting, especially if you are from Texas and never heard this. Pansies. I knew you was one Foxes are amazing creatures. Lockdowns have let loose wild animals now people are coming out. Alert scream from Fox.  Yep, pretty funny. That's the mating call of a fox or one in distress like if surrounded by coyotes. It does sound like a woman screaming bloody murder though, freaked me out the first time I heard it years ago. They call it the "Vixen's Screech". Most do it in short bursts, but some do these long drawn out ones that sound freaky. [ link to www.youtube.com (secure)]
