Advice for daughter on digestive issues
My daughter gets faint headed when trying to excrete on the toilet. She has fainted even. She is using extra fiber, and has had blood work and it looks fine.

Any advice for her?

Does she drink coffee? I found having a daily coffee and the caffeine within helped get my digestive system moving again to a point where I didn't have to strain on the toilet.

Take her to an Ayurveda doctor - she will be cured.

Thank you. She had even taken to laying on the ground to make it easier and then cleaning up after herself. Mid 20s.

Thank you for this. We live in an area of the US where there are different types of doctors so this is quite valuable.

Most likely a lack of protein. More eggs and meat.

Is she vegan?

Re: Advice for daughter on digestive issues
Maybe she is magnesium deficient. Magnesium oxide helps people to poop. When you get the runs you back off of the amount.

Only if you take the whole bottle. Magnesium is good in small amounts like 400 mg.

I have Crohns, there are number of things she can try, not too much red meat, only a little caffeine, not too big meals, rather space the meals out more, little and often, fruit between small meals. etc ....

Aloe Vera Juice in the morning or before bed.

Another thing to consider is her gut wall.

My wife and I use this stuff every day for about a year or so. If you can afford it, you may want to consider it.

The doctor behind the product invented it to combat the widespread contamination of food from roundup. There’s many interviews out there.

Best wishes to your daughter.

I have a similar problem. For some people, gas (intestinal or stomach) pressure on the vagus nerve can cause vasovagal syncope. For me it sometimes makes me feel faint, dizzy and always gives me irregular heartbeats. I get the same when I need to burp.
.

I have to avoid insoluble fiber completely, avoid any gas producing foods and eat low FODMAP. Eat only low fiber, cooked veggies (green beans, not broccoli, for example) I take Milk of Magnesia every night and with the right dose I don’t get diarrhea. A modified KETO diet is helping me too. I only eat 2 meals a day.

It is no fun and I went to a dozen doctors until a great gastroenterologist helped me work through what works and doesn’t. My life is back to normal now.

Also, she may want to check out Roemheld syndrome

PS, I went the high fiber route early on at the suggestion of doctors and it nearly killed me. Ended up having to see a cardiologist for a full work up and 7 days of heart monitor. My intuitive gastro doctor decided I needed to go the opposite direction, I credit him with saving my life and sanity!

Obviously you dont care enough to a DR.

Sounds like vasovagal fainting. She can try pressing the spot between the nose and upper lip to see if it helps. Maybe do some research on it and mention it to her doctor.

Re: Advice for daughter on digestive issues
Vasovagal syncope.

My child has had these episodes since she was 4. Lots of GI problems.

If this is a new problem, she needs a GI specialist and a full work up, including a colonoscopy.
