This is Russia's way of saying, loot (corrected in edit) my store and I will shoot your ass dead. America will probably upgrade its first strike policy as well. You can't really prepare physically but consider what may happen and cry about it now because we won't have time to cry about it when it happens. Last Edited by Cornfox on 06/03/2020 08:25 AM |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 75763337 Finland 06/03/2020 08:25 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In addition to that, the document now states that Russia could use its nuclear arsenals if it gets “reliable information” about the launch of ballistic missiles targeting its territory or its allies and also in the case of “enemy impact on critically important government or military facilities of the Russian Federation, the incapacitation of which could result in the failure of retaliatory action of nuclear forces”. Means if they get some bad intel, we get WW3 for nothing lol |

You can't really prepare physically but consider what may happen and cry about it now because we won't have time to cry about it when it happens. The reference to a non-nuclear strike as a possible trigger for nuclear retaliation reflects longtime Moscow concern about US military plans. The buildup of conventional forces near Russia’s borders and the deployment of missile defence assets and space-based weapons are among the threats identified by Moscow in the new document. US-Russia relations are at post-Cold War lows over the Ukrainian crisis, the accusations of Russian meddling in the US 2016 presidential election and other differences. Amid the tensions, the Kremlin has repeatedly voiced concern about the deployment of US and allied forces in the Baltics and Nato drills near Russia’s borders. |

Man 2020 is the year that the unthinkable is commonly thought everywhere. This might be it. I believe this is my last year. I want to see everything before I expire though. No way am I offing myself. And in my life I've wanted to off myself dozens of times. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 73154378 United States 06/03/2020 08:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Since early on in the Cold War, the U.S. policy has been that if Russia invaded central & Western Europe with conventional forces (which were massive in number), the U.S. reserves the right to counter with nuclear weapons. That was the deterrent. Putin is merely mirroring our long-standing policy. |

And with the U.S. directly & indirectly helping to overthrow governments — including & especially Ukraine’s — is it any wonder Putin would adopt this policy? |

And to think, we threw a huge hissy fit when Russia tried to put missiles 90 miles from the U.S. border 60 years ago. Yet today, we seek to encircle Russia with “defensive” (lol) missiles. |

Not to mention, the only reason Russia did that was because we had just put nuclear missiles in Turkey, which bordered on the USSR. But you never hear about that part of the story. The story of the Cuban Missile Crisis conveniently picks up with Russia trying to bring nukes to Cuba. Lol |

This is Russia’s way of signaling to the U.S. diplomatically that they are not going to accept further U.S. passive aggressive military creep upon their borders. To cease and desist any further. And we will. For a while. |

First by Napoleon. Second by Germany in WW1. Third by Germany in WW2. Is it any wonder Russia created a buffer (the Iron Curtain) after WW2, and is nervous about NATO (U.S.) military expansion encroaching on their western border? If Russia wasn’t nervous about it, they’d be fools. |
