I don’t see any issue with this and I’m against all these protests, not because I’m racist but because I don’t think the statistics show any systematic racism.... just isolated bad apples. However, kneeling with protesters shows the rest of the world we don’t run over objectors with tanks. I also would support those same troops opening fire on looters as well though!

Yeah but these are two extremes at the opposite ends: kneeling or being strong/aggressive like the guy in your video.

Normally if the two sides (soldiers and protesters) wanted to meet in the middle and fraternise/bond, they should have done things differently.

One side telling the other to kneel is NOT the two sides coming together on an equal footing.
It's one side forcing the other to concede a lesser position or to concede it doesn't have the moral high ground.

Here's how attempts to fraternise between protesters and riot police go in Romania (first video 2012, second 2018). Protesters reach out and want to create some good will, some riot police accept the gesture, some don't, but there's no ordering around on either side:

One thing that annoys me about Trump and most other people in general is they generally avoid giving a political face to a lot of what is going on and who is involved.

Trump, for example, often thinks that words like "fake" or "sleepy" are somehow more appropriate than "liberal" or "conservative," "leftwing," "rightwing." I'm sure he doesn't want to rub people of the left - from hard to soft - too much the wrong way. Or doing a political version of saying loudly that someone has a booger on his nose. Or that a person has ideological bad breath or body odor.

But political vagueness or ambiguity sure as hell doesn't help clarify hard-core reality.

Try humping a combat load for miles and wearing a plate carrier in the heat.

When told to "take a knee" it is a needed and tactical command.
