I live in a good area that is dense but there are break-ins, domestic abuse, robberies, home invasions etc etc all the time. But the police steadily keep this under control. Unless you speak with police about this, most people would never know how much is being handled keeping them safe. I'm even surprised when I hear the stories.

I have had to respond to people in distress with a gun, domestic violence, drug deliriums, and in order to get in and give people the medical help they need I need police backup.

This is true in so called "good neighborhoods" as well as bad. You don't know when someone is going to flip out, and EMS needs support to respond and save lives.
