Here is an idea.
Be prepared, with a small wagon on wheels
On it put a keg of beer with plastic cups
If the mob arrives in your area, pull out the wagon
Offer beer, then slowly walk the wagon of beer away from your area to. Maybe an open field
Have a bon fire going, have some bongo drums and a guitar or two.

Soon the riot becomes a party. Everyone’s dancing
Those who get wasted can be escorted away to sleep it off in a safe place.

That’s my life in the 70’s during the turmoil of Kent state and the anti government hatred.
