Eighteen was the year I moved from Michigan, where I grew, up to L.A. after my freshman year at the university.

My first job was working at Conroy's wholesale, picking up flowers from the flower market, prepping them and putting them on the trucks. San Julian St. Near the garment district, downtown.


I wasn't a bad kid. Kinda confused. Everybody is at that age, I guess.


Almost forty years ago.


Wow...time.
