Can you imagine a child overhearing adults discussing Civil War history? The child says, "Prove it happened.". Adult's reply, "Ummm, ?????". The left are shooting themselves in their respective feet....again. |

HBO Max announced on Tuesday it is blacklisting of Gone With the Wind (1939), and with it, Hattie Daniel’s performance for which she won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar of 1940. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78478255 McDaniel was not only the first black actor or actress to win an Oscar, she was the first black person ever to win an Oscar of any kind, and the first black person to even be nominated. Other than Merle Oberon, who was both Asian and Polynesian, McDaniel was the first racial minority ever nominated for any category. The backdrop happens to be reconstruction, and t historically accurately displays the southern side... but it is a story about a woman who triumphs in love and war, on her own terms... it’s is the ultimate feminist manifesto. This is a classic case of censorship without understanding. |
