Maybe they should not carry those items. I mean it's not worth it if those items are stolen more than are bought. That's why they were locked up in the first place.

They could just put a security device on each item that gets removed at the register. I bought some tweezers not too long ago that had that. Or, they could just have the one cashier in the cosmetics etc. section, like they do with electronics and at some Walmarts. It's a pain to have to go to the separate cashier, but if it keeps prices down without groups feeling targeted, fine.

I was just at a Walmart today. Now they're playing a recorded message in the store saying they know what pain people are in, that "they hear you, they see you" sort of crap. It came across as very insincere pandering.

You didn't hear this from me but I spoke to a store manager and a deli manager about this and they said the same thing.

The future goal of Walmart is to get to a point in stores to have "rolling vertical cages" and keep every item behind lock and key. They are literally working on the digital key layout right now (this was in the winter...I don't know october or november.)

It's funny, because the locked cases actually benefit the working blacks who have money to buy it and need it. There will be a shortage from all the thefts. Maybe they wouldn't even be able to buy it normally because it gets stolen all the time and is never in stock.
