They want us to trigger. My neighbor had a BLM sign in her front yard today, both of them stinking rich liberal assholes. I went ballistic. Are they out of their minds. We were untouched here, it's against the law to have political signage as well. I have to move, the stress of liberalism is killing me.

Well I once got into a raging argument about what racism is. My white friend grew up with a black sister who of course was adopted. He grew up in a all white country town and he was heckled and brow beaten for having a black sister.

He went nuts on me one day for saying Im not racist since I have black friends. He said just by saying they were black it was racist since I was pointing out their race. I said I thought racism was when you hated another race. And he kept at it saying just by naming the race you are racist. So according to his logic BLM is a racist organization because they mention race and they dont say all lives matter.

So yeah I have to agree now that BLM is racist. If you wish to end racism then you must no longer recognize race. So BLM you racist fucks what how do you respond.

There is no winning the racist argument. If you are white, you are racist by definition. There can be no solution to racism without elimination of white people.

Once you come to terms with this fact, your frustration over the issue will end. You will no longer care about being called a racist.

Playing devils advocate for a moment.

First, I agree that just being white does not make one racist. I don't think most people are saying that though, with the exception of the very few. There's always been a handful of people who are either overt racist or overt reverse-discriminitory; but put extremes aside for a second.

What most people are saying is that by being white, you inherit white privilege, whether you want to or not, whehter you are racist or not.

Much of this confusion has to do with the term white privliage; this is talking about class privilage, which has been part of social-economic studies for at least 100 years ( probably more ).

Since black people were slaves until the civil war and then had legal discrimination until the 1960s, and then outright continuation of these issues beyond the 1960s is what makes up 'systemic racism'.

This means that as a member of white race you inherit this class privliage, certain benefits (or lack of overt discrimination or hardships) that are faced by black people. It doesn't mean you are a spoiled privliaged brat or that you've never had hardship.

Now people on both sides, left and right don't understand that this is an ACADEMIC concept, and when they start using it on an interpersonal basis it becomes a type of interpersonal attack ' "YOU ARE PRIVLIAGDED" therefore "you are a racist asshole". Some people of course actively exploit their privilege, like we see so often now captured on youtube videos in the park, etc.

But most people on the left/woke side just want all white people to be aware that this is an issue for black people.

For me personally, this was underestimating the amount of continued racism that black people experience on a daily basis. Pulled over without cause at least a dozen times a year, looked at with suspicion every time they are out, unless they bring a dog or a kid toy with them, job discrimination, etc, it goes on. Some of them, very good people are even afraid to go out of their house or drive around and are always on guard.

I’m Caucasian and as such considered white. Funny thing is is that I am Ethiopian, blacker than the ace of spades. Race is not a matter of skin color. It’s a structural thing. To me it is hard to understand all this hate. Oh well, wtf!
