Quoting: tcs Issuing him a written warning at the end was adding insult to injury. He probably would have been tased (or worse) if he had been doing 5 miles over the speed limit. [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] I've been pulled over for going to slow and I know plenty of other people who have as well. If it's because I'm black, somebody should probably tell my parents and dig up multiple generations of my family going to back to when they came here from Scotland. It can legally be considered a hazard, it ties up traffic and blocks emergency vehicles. Cops also tend to find it suspicious when you slow down because you see them if you weren't speeding in the first place. Nice race baiting though. |

Going 5mph over/under the posted speed limit is not a legitimate reason for impeding any citizen from driving down the highway. If I'm a race-baiter, you're obviously a boot-licker. " Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord." ~ Jer. 17:5 "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" |

So what is the range that you are allowed to drive and deviate from that when there are judgement calls to make 5 mph- 10mph. It means that you must drive in a 55mph you must drive 50-55 legally. Any deviation and you are breaking the law making criminals out of all of us. Next we allow cops to use their discretion when enforcing the law so they can use it to cherry pick blacks. See how this game works. Make them all criminals and then go after blacks only. Because we are. In the eyes of the police: we are all criminals |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 73398970 United States 06/13/2020 12:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That's a shit reason to pull someone over and give them a warning. If he pulled him over for something else and just used this an excuse then he's a pussy. What the fuck is wrong with our country? Everyone is going full retard. Imagine getting pulled over for not breaking the law and a police officer admitting it. Because this is what this video shows. And the bullshit about his shirt, job, and reason for traveling is horse shit. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77949466 United States 06/13/2020 12:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | And you might say oh well speeding is speeding and it’s just a minor traffic ticket. But that’s the probable cause (it’s not but they use it that way) needed to justify harassing and snooping around or even planting evidence. It leads to probable cause based on a smell (he said she said, subjective). The traffic violations is the key to the ability to harass legally. And you might say oh well they had probable cause to search a vehicle and find drugs. Well a person who has drugs or has committed a crime where no victim is identified or the person has not committed any sort of violent crime, sexual, or theft crime:. In other words, some type of drugs or weapons violation whereby the criminal has bothered nobody who didn’t consent to be involved in drugs or guns or whatever it is. These people should not have to be harassed in the first place. If a drug user is caught driving intoxicated or selling to kids okay but there are clear cases where these people aren’t actually that bad of people and I have actually been an addict type or experimented myself. I don’t but even today; I know a plethora of straight up drug addicts (recreational or heavy users) who live totally normal lives. They are somehow able to control themselves somewhat. I know family men, I know a guy makes 150k+ and is a great father who like to party with hydrocodone or whatever he can find, for example. I work with a bunch of people that are even on drugs in safety sensitive areas and have no accidents. They also know how to hide it from their families so their kids don’t even know. And for the most part they don’t hurt society in the least; they are actually productive and responsible members of the community... believe it or not It would be kind of mind blowing for somebody who has never been around drugs to see and understand. But it’s 100% true. Instead these people are seen as all horrible people |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 73398970 United States 06/13/2020 12:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Was he traveling in the left lane at that speed? Was he impeding the flow of normal traffic, which wanted to travel at or above the speed limit? You'd need more context than what is given in the video to determine if this was a valid stop. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74628864 The cop doesn't mention the lane so it must not be too important for context. See how he runs off after handing the dude the warning like a pussy? |

Jesus said: He who seeks, let him not cease seeking until he finds; and when he finds he will be troubled, and when he is troubled he will be amazed, and he will reign over the All. [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] Was told by a military policeman back in the day that 5 under is probable cause for intoxicated driving. The officer was just doing his job. That doesn't fly. This cop is a pussy of epic proportions. His reason for pulling him over was going 5 under, then assures the driver he just wants to make sure he's ok. If 5 under is probable cause then probable cause is meaningless. The speed limit means you can't exceed that speed lawfully. So what does that mean? You have to go the speed limit at all times? It's just arbitrary subjective nonsense. The law is law. 5 under the speed limit is NOT breaking the law so the stop is bullshit. I don't give a shit what color someone is, that was a bullshit stop. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 74628864 United States 06/13/2020 12:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yep. 8ve been pulled several times for driving under the speed limit. It's a flag you might be impaired and if there's a lot of traffic its impeding traffic. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78612239 I'd think you'd need more to go on to pull someone over for suspicion of impaired driving than a person acting in a completely lawful manner. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 55611245 United States 06/13/2020 01:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Cop was a prick. Seemed to be looking for a drug bust. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75169102 A person traveling with drugs might drive under the speed limit to avoid being stopped for speeding. Turns out that's not a good idea. Driving too slow is very suspicious looking. I knew of a person who got a ticket for driving too slow on the highway because it is called "creating a situation", meaning you're likely to trigger an accident. |
