If so, we’re looking at a ELE event. Or the person cutting it got it on the meat. The person eating it, after it was caught, got covid-19. No matter how you slice it, it’s really bad news. Watch for Orcas getting sick. |

The article says the virus was found on the cutting board, not in the meat of the fish. Even if the virus was present in the fish itself, stomach acid would completely destroy it. There seem to be anecdotal reports out there suggesting cross-species transmission between humans and animals can happen, but there has been little hard evidence of this, or any cases where people have been infected from eating or handling COVID-contaminated food. I’ve done the math, and for a real ELE to be happening, at least 9.5 million people would need to die from the coronavirus each day, along with every baby that is born each day. Given that there have been a total of 7.5 million total infections globally, and only 400,000 total deaths, we’re a long way from experiencing an ELE. With the exception of a few countries, death rates are actually declining too. |
