Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79023146 Back in the 50s, things were a lot different. You had the friendly billy club neighbor cop. You had no national database to track people. You had no license scanners. You had no gps. Cops did not give high speed chases since innocents may be killed. Fast forward to today. With all the hitech equipment, gps on your cell phone, national database and so on, you are not getting away, and yet it seems we have gone the opposite direction. Cops go on high speed chases, putting peoples lives at risk, they chase and gun down people running from them, they dress up in military gear like some roid rager. Back in the 50's people had GOD. Back in the 50's the majority of people had enough morality left in them they knew right from wrong and public shaming was enough to keep people in line because if you did wrong, you were basically an outcast in your community. Back in the 50's we didn't have people of all cultures pouring into the US and beheading our daughters or raping our children because that's the way they did things over there. It's a damn fucking shame we aren't back in the 50's but you don't get back to the 50's unless it starts in the church, home and community. YOU definitely don't start "getting back to the 50's" by starting with the COPS! Wrong. The crime rate was higher in the 50s. You had serial killers on the lose. Child abuse was through the roof but ignored. If you go back even further, you had the mobsters and the mafia killing each other. There was no godly people, everything was just kept hidden in the closet and out of the media. Go back and watch MLK's "I have a dream" speech and pay particular attention to the crowd. It is largely made up of well-dressed black families. The black family was still intact back then before LBJ's "Great Society" welfare programs began to systematically dismantle it. Illegitimate births were on par with whites back tehn and the vast majority of black children grew up in intact, two-parent homes. Black families attended churches in very high numbers. Blacks still lagged behind whites educationally and economically but the trend was closing the gap right up until the early 1970's. There has always been crime. When has there ever not been? How you dress says nothing about the person being good or bad. The mobster and mafia thugs wore business suits and were a criminal enterprise involved in everything illegal under the sun. In the 50s, in New York City, all gangs were majority white, if you did not belong to a gang, you were nobody. When you look at the pictures of the welfare crowds of people getting a handout in the 20s to 50s, many wore nice clothes and we say how upstanding they look. If someone gets a handout today, if they dress like shit, we say what a thug they are, if they dress real nice, we say why do they need a handout with such nice clothes. |

It always falls apart under even cursory examination. What is your point exactly? If you or I handcuff a drunk guy in a Wendy's parking lot, and throw him in our cars, and drive away with him... It's fucking kidnapping. Face it pal, some people have rights, protections and responsibilities commensurate to their position. Doctors get to cut open humans and remove things. Pilots get to fly jets and shit. Can you legally do these things??? "Awww it's not fair, a proctologist gets to stick things in strangers buttholes all day long. But when I do that..." Quoting: sssssteve He resisted a lawful arrest, assaulted police, took the officers taser, and shot said taser at the officer in an attempt to incapacitate the armed officer. What's left for the other officer to do? Use harsh language? Gotta say I'm glad you are not an officer because your partner would likely end up dead. I had two friends who worked as Charlotte police officers. Tried to make an arrest, the perp got hold of one their guns and shot both dead. Two grieving wives and small children left. Nobody rioted or protested for them. He shot the taser from a long-distance over his shoulder while running the other way. There was no remotely lethal threat. And even if he had somehow hit the lead officer, there was another behind him, not to mention he was on foot so an easy nab. He turned and took aim. He did it well enough to almost hit the cop with it too. Even the MSNBC clip says "turned to fire at officers". Not a lethal threat. We train our police to only use lethal force as the last moment. Do you really think the drunk guy high tailing it was a lethal threat? Easy for you to say behind your keyboard. The person did NOT comply. The person was fighting with and striking the officers. The person was able to take on two officers, take a taser away, and then flee. The person then fires the taser at the pursuing office. No one knows what else this person had on him, or was capable of doing. NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED, IF HE WAS NOT INTOXICATED WHILE DRIVING AND THEN ACTING LIKE A COMPLETE THUG. He got the short end of the stick. Would you people be happy if the both cops were shot and killed? Sadly, most of you demented and backward fucks probably would be happy if both officers where shot and killed and the upstanding person was still alive. |
