- The date on the document is Feb. 17, 1964, and shows it being issued by the “Republic of Kenya.” History books show that Kenya was the Dominion of Kenya in February 1964 and didn’t adopt the name Republic of Kenya until Dec. 12, 1964.

- The age of Obama’s father is incorrect. Obama Sr. was born in 1936 and would have been 24 or 25 years old at the time of his son’s birth, not 26 as listed on the document.

- Mombasa is several hundred miles from Nyanza Province in western Kenya, where the Obama family lived. Nairobi would have been a much closer large city to take a woman about to deliver a baby.

- The number on the certificate is 47O44. It would be a strange coincidence for this exact number to show up: 47 was Obama’s age when he became president, followed by the capital letter O (not zero) for his last name, followed by 44 for the fact that he is the 44th president.

Malik Obama is under fire for sharing a fake document suggesting that his half-brother, former US President Barack Obama was born in Kenya.

The doctored birth certificate uploaded by Malik on Twitter on Monday indicated that Barack was born at the Coast General Hospital in Mombasa on August 4th, 1961.

“What’s this?” Malik captioned a photo of the alleged birth certificate.

Malik appeared to imply that he had found evidence of Barack’s actual birthplace contrary to the fact that he was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.

But some internet users were quick to note a number of glaring errors on the fabricated document. For example, it indicated the “Republic of Kenya,” contrary to the fact that the country was still under colonial rule in 1961.

A reverse search of the document also showed it was issued by the Australian Registration of Birth to one David Bomford, who was born in South Africa in 1959.

Barack’s half-sister Auma Obama and deported Kenyan-Canadian lawyer Miguna Miguna are among online users who condemned Malik for posting the fake certificate.

Auma tweeted: “So blindly consumed by jealousy and bitterness that you will go to any length to slander your younger brother’s name – literally! Just because he has outshone you in EVERY SINGLE ASPECT of his life. Seek relevance elsewhere big brother!”

She added: “Long before he even knew he would be president my little brother visited his fatherland and was embraced by all!!! Malik you took centre stage in welcoming him!!!”

Miguna wrote: “Chief: Let your brother live in peace. Stop helping Donald Trump–a white supremacist–smear your brother in the mud.”
