And he might well be forced to "do something" in some instances - but those are steps he will not take lightly (no President ever should), AND the Left truly wants him to do it for political fodder - which is why he might not.

The bigger problem here is not his inaction, but the actions and lack thereof of the local and state leadership within the most problematic states. They are in charge of their states, and are the first line of defense against insurrection, riots, etc. So, it is up to them to figure out how best to manage the crisis to secure the well being of their citizenry, and I can safely say that most of them are doing the exact opposite. I'm pretty sure that they are doing it intentionally and in concert with one another (as dictated by their DNC handlers) - in hopes of destroying their economies (and Trump by extension), but that is another thread.

That said, for the President to declare martial law in a particular state, or "send in the troops," it is a HUGE enforcement of power that only very rarely has ever been undertaken in the most extreme cases. I'd say it's pretty extreme now, but again, it is up to the states to handle this, and the good PEOPLE in those states to literally force their officials (within the law) to do so if they won't. If they don't like the outcome, they should move to a state that is a bit more friendly to Americans.

It’s happening now. You don’t see it yet, but it is. It took us a very long time to get to this point, due primarily to apathy, and it will take some time to reverse course. But one cannot fix the problem until enough people see it first.
