The sky is bluer and the air smells fresher. People honking their horns at the neighbours more, when coming by the house. OPP cruiser poaching across the house for more speeders.. Otherwise everything seems normal around here. CUB4DK |

In those lines where you have to wait to get into the grocery store, even though everyone is spaced 6 feet apart, nobody talks to each other. I try, and will say something like - hey I like your mask - but it goes flat. It's like being around a bunch of broken spirits. There was a little kid that was watching me in line today and I put my hand up and waved to her and she waved back. Last Edited by ~Sloane~ on 06/17/2020 06:32 PM |

My kids and I went hiking the other day and some lady and her kid walked past and they said "hi guys" and it was like they were our friends and it was sad my kids couldn't play with that little girl. grass fed sardines |

Quoting: TlvmmCpoft Annoying, persistent, too frequent, but perfectly fucking normal. Except for this election being the most important in history. I'm team Joe! You're an idiot voting for a demented pedophile talking gibberish, then? |

In those lines where you have to wait to get into the grocery store, even though everyone is spaced 6 feet apart, nobody talks to each other. I try, and will say something like - hey I like your mask - but it goes flat. It's like being around a bunch of broken spirits. There was a little kid that was watching me in line today and I put my hand up and waved to her and she waved back. That is both sweet & a bit sad. It makes me realize that kids don’t get to see our expressions much, now. A few years back, I started noticing a lot more kids seemed to need speech therapy and were unable to verbally communicate at the age you’d normally expect. It took them a good amount of time to get up to speed, and caused various struggles. At the time, I kept wondering what was going on... then realized how much time their families spent on their phones. “Talking” with friends was primarily texting, which limited the children’s exposure to spoken language. Now, people are also gravitating away from TV. And they have headphones on much of the time, personalizing their content to watching videos that they like and the rest of their family may not be interested in. Several people in one room can be seen with headphones on, laughing to themselves. A child in that environment is largely left out, but often given an old phone or tablet to play with. Their “friend” becomes the device, because it responds and interacts in ways the humans may not. Now, add to this the layer of very distanced and impersonal interactions when they are out shopping. No friendly strangers to converse or joke with. Many times, not even a friendly cashier to assist with their purchases. No expressions to learn from. Just people staying suspiciously away from each other, covering their faces and looking away as they grab what they need, hurry to the front of the store, and proceed through self-checkout. What effect does this have on developing kids? |

Most people are following the guidelines well but also most are really getting sick of it. Also - we listen to the scientists... Really - and these scientists are what? economists. Lowes, Home Depot very low on basic construction wood and fasteners. I'm heading back to the mason supply dept, wiped out. It's frustrating, I won't be bidding on any jobs because without materials... And where are those Mexicans labor types at, they are not in the parking lot anymore, seriously. This is the Canary in the coal mine. And yet the parking lot is full o cars and trucks. WTF? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77236065 United States 08/05/2020 10:39 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yep. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72887140 No mosquitos this year. I've got a pond in my backyard and we normally get eaten up by them. Not one, yet. Pleasant! but VERY unusual. The fields by my house are always planted with either corn, soybean, or cotton. They didn't plant this year. This is the first time in over 20 years that I am seeing empty fields. That's shocking! same with fireflies, only saw a few outside this summer - normally some summers ive looked into a field and they make it almost dreamlike |

Really - and these scientists are what? economists. BBC had one thing right - schools should be first open last shut. it's trauma based mind control. the mask thing is possibly the worst kind of oppression because it hides behind plausible deniability and is soft and subtle in the way it silently crushes humanity beyond a millimeter of cotton. it's not out in the open and obvious where people would be unified in condemning it. it's genius level tactics of tyranny. |

What effect does this have on developing kids? back before aldis made masks mandatory, when i still shopped there but during the full hysteria a few months ago - a little girl was struggling getting her quarter out of the cart she returned. i offered mine and she took it without hesitation with a nice thank you. incredibly refreshing. she hadn't "learned" this twisted fear of others that the media has foisted on us. she just did what was natural and normal without hesitation. fight for the kids - they are after them more than anything. |

Empty shelves. ALL the bins that are normally filled with nuts, etc. empty. Isles now cavernously large. Cashiers almost non existant with lines to pay very long. Communist commissaries with rationing coming quickly i’m afraid! |
