MacKenzie Bezos joins Melinda Gates to help women gain power in the companies.

Gates and Bezos unveiled the Equality Can't Wait Challenge Tuesday.

The competition awards grants of up to $10 million each to organizations or coalitions with the best proposals for driving forward gender equality.

Up to 10 finalists will also be given a one-time grant of $100,000.

It has been launched through Pivotal Ventures, Gates' nonprofit on women's issues, and will be managed by Lever For Change.

'Closing the gap on gender equality will benefit everyone,' Bezos said.

'The entrenched inequalities that divide America - race, gender, class - will not go away without systems-wide change,' Gates said
