Tulsa History: BOK TOWER is replica of the WTC Towers... overlooks BOK “Center”

This is some info that just like the 1921 massacre, many people are unaware of this historical building in downtown Tulsa...

The BOK Tower located in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma (formerly Williams Tower) is a literal half-size replica of the World Trade Center Towers
It was completed in 1976....
“BUILT THREE YEARS AFTER NEW YORK’s World Trade Center and designed by the same architect, the BOK Tower is strikingly similar to the Twin Towers in appearance and construction, but at almost exactly half the size.


“BOK Tower (formerly known as One Williams Center) is a skyscraper in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. At 203 m (666 ft) in height, the 52-story tower was the tallest building in any of the five "Plains States": Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota, as well as the surrounding states of Missouri, Arkansas and New Mexico, until surpassed by Devon Tower in 2011. It was built in 1976 and designed by Minoru Yamasaki & Associates, the same architect who designed the World Trade Center in New York City. This structure is very similar to the WTC towers in appearance and construction.”


Not long after the Twin Towers opened on April 4, 1973, John Williams, the CEO of Williams Companies, set his mind on creating a new tower for his company in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. Impressed with the towers of the World Trade Center, Williams initially considered building four small-scale replicas. That, however, would have been tricky and inefficient given the space he had to work with, so the plans were changed to focus on a single tower half the size of those in New York.

And who better to get the job done than Minoru Yamasaki & Associates, the same architects who designed the WTC? Williams’ wishes were soon conjured up by Yamasaki, staying extremely faithful to the Twin Towers design both outside and in.

An AC notes in this thread that Williams purportedly visited WTC to witness the demolition?! I missed that one.
