Woodie Guthrie Centre there as well.

There's a picture of the WTC overlooking the Centre of the Universe.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79012666

Yes! The Woody Guthrie center that LITERALLY runs off the homeless from their fancy facility and park... regardless of my thoughts on Woody, I strongly believe Woody would’ve much preferred a homeless soup kitchen be placed there in his honor and not a costly museum for hipster musicians to tour when they come play the Cain’s Ballroom for musical history “cred”.

I like the Center of the Universe. It’s like you can only hear your voice, no one’s else’s and it just keeps echoing. I was also drunk cause there were a bunch of bars around that area lol

The word "bok" is Turkish for "shit"

Can't be a coincidence.

Good pick up OP. Since you might be interested, the same architect did another similar design in Buffalo:

Take a look at the construction photos the last one in particular to understand the building method.

My point? I’m praying for everyone’s safety... and...
It’s just a 411 on a little something called the History of Tulsa for those who may not be aware. If you already know this History...then move along, I have no “point” for you. It’s a dot... connect them yourself or be quiet and lurk? peace

Ps Why does Fox keep repeatedly showing the BOK Center with a single RV parked out front??? It’s a reach, I know, but it does present as a subliminal to conjure up a trauma-memory of the single Rider truck parked at the OKC bombing tragedy.

The great (Creek) Chief Sapulpa is buried in the neighborhood of a family member. The grave is literally stuffed between two houses’ backyards, no light on the flag at night and it’s rarely if ever mowed.

Tulsa is the BELT BUCKLE of the Bible Belt.

Does that even MEAN anything?

If you were going to have "an event" at the center ...
the event would symbolize the FOCUS point,
to concentrate .. dead center.

A belt buckle in the Bible belt holds it all together.
Christianity (in it's American form) may take hit in the tummy region.

Not really. Tulsa is extremely liberal for this region. That belt buckle of the bible belt stigma is pretty outdated. There are some very serious liberal antifa types who may cause trouble tomorrow. Remember a federal building was bombed just 2 hours away from Tulsa in OKC.

Since you all are talking about broken arrow, BOK also means a crater on the dark side of the moon.

The logo itself isn’t a 69 (Cancer) like an eye and moon is in Cancer at the time of the rally during the eclipse.

Since you went there, there are crowds gathering outside the BOK Centre for the first mass gathering since forever exactly 100 days since Trump declared a National State of Emergency.

The name itself is interesting. Like Bank of America (BOA) or Bank of England (BOE) etc, you would think the Bank of Oklahoma would be something like BOO or BOOK. So they took off the “o” ad named it BOK. What if there was an “o” making it BOOK?

So crowds gathering outside. Now try read Revelations 20:12. with that proposition of BOK just being BOOK.

No kidding that had to be found in 2012 revelations.

I’m sorry but that is incorrect....unless you’re solely referring to the artsy Brookside area over on Peoria, the University of Tulsa campus/area and also the revamped “Blue Dome” bar district... the blue domed building next door to Arnie’s (THE best/real/OG Irish pub in Tulsa) used to be a gas station and was seized and used as a “command center” during the massacre of 1921.
It’s not “outdated” when Judge’s were saying almost daily just 5 years ago to clients before them that “Oklahoma will be the last state in the Union to legalize marijuana”.

1.Tattoo shops were ILLEGAL in Oklahoma until 2007
2. Topless/Nude “exotic” (lols) dance clubs were illegal until just within the past 10-20 years (I loathe the objectification of ANY human fyi)
3. 3.2% beer was mandatorily the only type of beer that could be sold “cold”, you’d have to go buy warm “good” beers at the liquor stores (close at 9pm, closed Sundays)
4. Adult films sold or rented cannot show penetration = illegal.
5. The Lottery was “banned” clear up until 2005... and no telling where that or the turnpike money has been going.
Bonus:
6. Don’t forget Epstein Zorro Ranch won the Oklahoma Lottery in 2008...$29 million....

I personally am not into the aforementioned things, but my point is that the concept of the Bible Belt buckle being outdated is false. Many of the so called “liberals” there have so much disdain for gays, they just hide it.
Saw a study few years back that claimed Tulsa has more gay males than San Francisco does, they’re just afraid to come out because it’s Oklahoma fire and brimstone, so suicides there are through the roof...
Oklahoma also leads the nation with the highest women incarceration rate and also teen pregnancies. The State is loaded to the gills with privatized prisons and turnpikes to keep certain peoples “trapped” so to speak... it’s The I-44 turnpike is something like $4.00 one way to OKC and $4.00 back to Tulsa...

Tulsa: home of “black boy creek” just up the road west of BOK center... contrary to what I’ve read here and there regarding the name magically appearing in 1915 is BS... Bad people would drown folks there... fact.

We all bleed red.

Haven’t seen it yet. If you share a link though.

Will say this about 2/11....

COVID-19 didn’t get named until February 11 (2/11) or more appropriately 2 - 11 as some prefer to write.

In alphabets A=1, B=2 etc, 2-11 = B0K

Even the method that Tulsa’s street names were created with is very interesting.

The Frisco tracks became the north/south dividing line for street names and Main Street became the east/west dividing line. Streets west of Main Street were named for western cities and streets east of Main Street were named for cities east of the Mississippi River. Streets running both north and south of the Frisco tracks were originally to be numbered but it was later decided that the northern streets be named for prominent Tulsans and other notable Americans. Archer Street, for example, was named after Jeff Archer, owner of Tulsa’s first hardware store.

Less than 50% rule:
Link: [link to tulsapreservationcommission.org (secure)]

Downtown Brady District was renamed Blue Dome District... irony (command center during massacre)
The Brady theater was renamed to another cat with same last name due to Brady’s triple K ties...The huge building where they met up after Brady theater became too small was just a stone’s throw away from the current BOK center... it was torn down years ago. The huge privatized ugly jail sits right there up the street and around the corner from BOK Center...
If you’re going down that way, I’d recommend you stay away from the Day Center at 400 block of Archer.

Stay safe.... BE Kind.

I think it’s a brilliant proactive move to reduce and ideally eliminate spray paint graffiti, broken glass and burning plywood. But who really knows... I pray it works.
