If you grow up as a poor white in a poor town (like a bunch of whites do), you'll especially never understand "white privilege." So yeah, starting off in a poor family will make things harder whether you are black or white, but in this great country, if you do work hard enough, you can make something of yourself and feel great about the accomplishment.

The problem now is we have too many young people that don't want to work hard. It's all getting everything for free without putting in any work.

White privilege is a racist term.

As if black lives matter.

As if it's the fault of a whole race of people, and as if it's not racist to blame something or be biased against a whole race of people because if the color of their skin.

Anyone perpetuating "white privilege" hate speech or blaming anything on an entire race of people, are blatantly ignorant racists that are in denial.

I'm with you man, we bought a new mattress recently that was $1000. We had to save three months hard work but our backs were hurting and we had too.

If you want nice things, it takes work.

My immigrant (white) great-grandparents were coalies or agricultural field workers. Robber barons basically came to Europe and "bought" them to bring here for hard labor and broken promises.

My coal-mining great grandad died at 32, in a mine cave-in, like so many others. (no lives mattered) His widow and 6 kids all went to work in the knitting mills, as soon as they could from age 13 on. My grandma was one of the kids. She did get to complete 8th grade, though.

The "dumb swedes" side lived in bunkhouses, right along with blacks and other sub-groups, basically the property of rich people. They lost the first three kids they had, but went on to have 5 that lived. Kind of typical back then. My dad told me he had a serious mastoid surgery done on the kitchen table in the old farmhouse, and had an obe during it as a kid. He always had the large scar to show for it. Glad he made it!

I am scotts Irish, native american and a drop of african. I have been called black foot, half breed, ugly red girl...my entire life. nothing was given to me...and yet...because my skin looks like a dark white...I am considered white.
