We Fed A Raccoon Today at the Park | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78360108 United States 06/25/2020 08:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Rabies infested giant rats is all they are. You were warned. Next time it will be like this. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78360108 You've got the wrong natural order, Frog. Rats are rodents, Raccoons are Mammals. In fact, Raccoons are more closely related to... cats. Rats are mammals to bud and Racoons shouldn't be fed by humans. It doesn't help anything and the food is probably bad for them. |

Just be careful about coons and skunks running around in the day. It might not be anything, but then again it might. Quoting: GA Girl The raccoons in this park are pretty used to people. I think she had babies and was hungry. Anonymous Coward User ID: 78310900 United States 06/25/2020 08:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Careful the karens and darens are going to be saying you practically got it killed because now it will harrass people Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75958720 This had me laughing. I had a Karen fit today to my son because people in my (certified nature preserve) neighborhood keep feeding the deer and naming them. Of course, they then have no fear and come up to the houses and eat all of our landscaping. Well, this one doe had her baby in the woods up the hill from my house and 4 times in the last two weeks she has taken off after my 20 lb dog to try to kill her! She actually came running down the hill and jumped into my split-rail fenced yard to get her! So, I did what any rational person does - bought a paintball gun. Just wait until the neighbors see a doe walking around with blue and yellow paint on it. |

Why do you have such a vested interest here? Do you just get your rocks off being negative... I realize it's a natural attribute of the French but perhaps with a little therapy you can overcome your own natural tendencies. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 79074594 United States 06/25/2020 11:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So in rural areas, the Raccoons are night critters and I've only seen one individual staggering around in daylight. Probably rabid or some other ailment. However in such places as Campgrounds or parks, the Raccoons get accustomed to people and enjoy stealing Food. Once at the Oregon Coast near Newport, my Girlfriend and I had a rather aggressive Raccoon snatch a box of "Cheeze-It" crackers from the picnic table while we were pitching the tent. Daylight out, but the critter was used to campers having food for the taking. I chased it off and we got our crackers back, but it really grabbed the entire box and started to drag it into the bushes. She thought it was Cute :) |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 77237671 United Kingdom 06/25/2020 11:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | LOL and here I've been trying to kill a few raccoons all week. I'm bugged out of the Twin Cities since April. Out in the country in my RV. A few others bugged out here too. Been dealing with raccoons getting into our free range chicken coups. They seem interested in the feed and not the chickens themselves. We got 13 chickens and 1 rooster here. I set up a few portable motion lights that are super sensitive and very bright. Those lights coming on are enough to cause the raccoons to retreat. It probably temporarily blinds then. But eventually that won't phase them unless I can sting them with a few BBs at the same time. Got a 22 that is not loud that I could use at night too. Heard a neighbor with a 22 last night at around 3 AM. It's approaching 11 PM and it's a nice mild night. I'm sitting here in my comfy chair in my RV near an open window and I can hear the raccoons walking around in the forest. Barely any breeze so it quiet outside tonight. A storm is expected within a couple hours. I've been wanting to play with my synth, groovebox, and 1010Music Blackbox this evening but with damn raccoons all over there place I don't dared put on my headphones and crank up the volume. Grrrr. And I feel creative tonight too. I've caught the raccoon in the coup once this week. It's ignored the chickens, but I've found dead gutted rabbits around here this last week and raccoon poop nearby. Now I hear one nearby in the woods again. I have a 400mw laser sight coupled to a pair of 10x50 binoculars and can blind those fuckers too. Imagine, an entire forest filled with blind raccoons. LOL. And now I hear the neighbors again tonight and that sounded like shotgun fire. Yeah, frag them damn thieving raccoons. |

Hadn't laughed much about anything for a while now so I was grateful. What a nut. Did you ever see Grey Gardens? My favorite part is when Little Edie goes up to the huge scary attic with bags and bags of Wonderbread and dumps them out for the dozens of raccoons that come running, that was awesome. |

I feed her every night, and close her into my garage at night, lots of coyotes here. Probably 3 nights a week, When I go out to close the door, a raccoon is in my garage with the cat, sharing a bowl of food. At this point, when he sees any of us, he just grabs the bowl and drags it under my wrangler. Little thief. He is very cute but we chase him off. |
