I said potential threat.

That is just reality.

There is no way to know their exact motives.

It may be entirely scientific, but in the absence of evidence, it is best to keep an open mind about all possibilities.

Just sayin'

Prudence would be justified, but our primitive means of defense probably have no impact on a civilization capable of interstellar travel.

Projectile weapons and nuclear bombs, all outward signs of tribal dominance and fear.

Everyone is always threatened by something.

I believe in trying to prepare for every eventuality within reason.

Assuming we don't destroy ourselves first -- a big if -- we will probably have more advanced weapons in the future -- laser weapons, particle beam weapons etc.
 Quoting: Builder of the Adytum

Our problem is we make weapons based on fear, ever more destructive an powerful, because of fear, because we can relate to anyone anymore, its all fear based.

We spend over 500 BILLION dollars on defense each year while cancer rips families apart man.

We all sense a threat at the drop of a hat, its fear based reasoning.

We have so much violence and ugliness. People just wanna get mad and hit someone, destroy something.

If they are up there, watching, they are probably dumbfounded how we court our own destruction by the very way we live.
 Quoting: ~Newton's Own~

True, but it's because of the way the weapons are used.

They are just tools.

It is men and their motives that need to be reformed, imo.

Yes, and myriad problems go with that, namely how to make all men and women of different creeds, cultures and religions agree, even on one single thing.

Collectively, our power is limitless, as long as we are divided so effectively, our power is unrealized.

Humans were made as slaves.

From the Sumerian creation story (the roots of the bible)

"let him bear the yoke, the task of Enlil, let man assume the drudgery of the god."

And so does mankind walk in the footsteps of slavery. Easily persuaded of falseness, easily controlled, easily subdued.

Re: Had a thought on Alien Civilizations.
the ufos we see are not visiting.
they live here.

we share this planet with several different civilizations.
imagine the uncontacted tribes in the brazillian rainforest who have no idea WE exist.
they know nothing of our world and our technology.
we're in the same situation.
there are several highly advanced species that we know nothing about. they live in our oceans and deep earth caverns.
they moved underground and into the oceans to avoid the cataclysms that impacted the planet many years ago.
they pilot the vehicles we have been seeing in our skies and oceans for thousands of years.

It's all fear based control, fear of your life, fear of your circumstances, fear, fear, fear.

More and more of it, this whole world is based on fear.

Until we move beyond this vulnerable fear based paradigm, nothing will change.

Perhaps they are relearning a forgotten thing.

Too many intelligent alien species out there to guess but the ones that came to Earth 550000 thousand years ago have left a very detailed record of their history.

Unfortunately TP'sTB and media keep this knowledge from us for a very specific reason. A reason that is not in the best interest of mankind, just themselves.
