Why is everything in Amerika in reverse / different from the rest of the world ~ except for one thing....

Amarica and the rest of the world have many connective branches, styles, habits, beliefs, desires, political systems, banking, written words, etc, etc.

but that doesn't explain the differences i pointed out...... why? what is the purpose of having amerikans reading left to right..... driving on opposite sides of the road .... different measuring system. why?

The metric system was imposed on Canada back in the 80's, the imperial system we had worked fine, came from Britain, same with Fahrenheit temp measurements as opposed to changing to Celsius.
It cost the taxpayers massive amounts of money to replace all the road signs form mIles to kilometres across the country, countless machinist's Imperial measuring tools now needed to be replaced unless one wanted to go through mathematical conversions.

I guess America takes more of a " if it ain't broken, and it works, don't change it" kind of attitude.
Same reason I still only use a landline telephone, It works fine for what I expect a phone to do.

It's hard to have such a discussion when the basis of many of your questions is just based on your perception rather than in fact.

For instance, driving is a simple one to disprove:

So basically it comes down to 2/3 of the world uses the same driving side as we do, whether you base it by number of countries or population, but when you do it by area it is more like 5/6 is the same as the US.

Your discussion will be more worthy and hold more merit if you can ask questions that are actually factually based, and phrased in ways that are objective rather than subjective (e.g. "most countries read from right to left", isn't the population more important than the number of countries? etc.)

nah...... makes no sense. Everything else "was" before...... Amerika came to be, and changed it. I'm just interested in the reasoning.

We use the metric system here we use both. I have tools in metric. We have bolts nut all in metric. EVER ONE drives on the other side? How do you come to this fact?
