Chances are if you are in a position where you must defend your family or own life then you may think in that moment "Shit all I got is this small ass pocket knife". If you need to put someone down you need to eliminate the threat as fast as possible. What if you miss with your 3 inch blade? Disarmed? The they murder your family while you watch. Nah guns are the great equalizer.
