I believe that we should stand up to the insane people who are trying to destroy our country; however, with today’s culture I find that in doing, so you may stand alone. In a neighborhood I’ve lived in I came to the aid of neighbors to assist with problems a few times, only to find that when I turned around they disappeared into their houses, hiding, watching me take all the bullets, and hoping the outcome would be in their favor. Now I find myself agreeing more and more with the OP….

My blessed Mom has moved on into the Lord's domain, but I know if she can see me, continues to wring her hands and shake her head at how I ignore her warnings. She always said people will prompt you to take a stand but when you do and you turn around to garner their support, they have scurried away and left you standing alone. I guess I am simply 'dumb' as I have experienced this time and time sgsin, but continue to be a Defender'. I understand OP'S position, but I am not ready to give up, I hope I never will. And as I am older and gave no children to protect, is there really any reason to change my ways? And as one poster mentioned, nothing ever disappears from the Internet, so why retre now..I am toast if things really go South.
